When it comes to innovation in design, Universal Everything is a studio that sits at the forefront. Working across VR, AR, video walls, installations and many other areas, if there is a new area of technology to be explored, rest assured the studio will be there. The first to take to the stage at this month’s Nicer Tuesday’s, the studio will be discussing Lifeforms, the current show at 180 Strand, and the largest show yet. Using generative software, Universal Everything has created a series of lifeforms that mirror and shift in time with public interactions, with a mesmerising, entertaining and awe-inspiring finish. Want to get inside the minds of some of the biggest in the design industry? Here’s your chance.

To summarise Anna Fearon’s creative output in one word is difficult, but perhaps ‘interchangeable’ would make most sense. Seamlessly shifting between photography, film and music videos, at the forefront of her varied work as a Black queer artist is the desire to “tell nuanced stories and convey my subjects with beauty, honesty and integrity”. A recent film commissioned by Channel 4 highlighted the “multifaceted and complex” nature of Black motherhood, and a magical, surrealist photo series Colour + Movement, saw Anna turn her lens to Black dancers responding to colour spaces. But, this Nicer Tuesdays you’ll be getting the whole package, as Anna will be leading us through the ethos, inspiration and drive that underlies the entirety of her beautifully meaningful practice.

The illustrations of Aysha Tengiz are colourful, joyful and full of life, and we’re sure her talk at Decemembers Nicer Tuesdays will be much the same. Aysha’s style makes sense when learning that her illustration practice began at the tender age of eight, to remedy her boredom after her family moved to Turkey in the midsts of winter. And it seems that since then her joyful work has struck a chord. Now on the brilliant roster of Snyder, Aysha has a list of clients as varied as her work, with The New York Times, Facebook, Stella McCartney and Lazy Oaf. Want to escape the December cold and see something that’s really going to warm you up? This will be the talk for you.

Joining us for the last slot of December’s Nicer Tuesdays is adam&eveDDB, the ad agency that invented the John Lewis festive ad and transformed Christmas into the UK’s Superbowl moment. We’ll hear from Creative Directors, Matt Gay and Feargal Ballance, the team behind John Lewis Christmas campaigns since The Long Wait in 2011. With over a decade’s experience creating one of the most anticipated adverts of the calendar year, we’ll be learning about their recipe for success, from storyboard to shoot, the obstacles they’ve encountered along the way, and the art of how to capture and encompass the Christmas spirit.
