Seeing as most of the UK returned from Glastonbury on the week of June’s Nicer Tuesdays, what better way of curing a hangover than hearing all about the makings of a delicious new food app, Delli? Speaking about the process was Kenjiro Kirton and Simon Beckerman who took to the stage as this month’s opener in a wonderfully energetic and informative manner. The pair kicked off with some intros, before enlightening the crowd to this harmonious collaboration; the app is the next genius creation to come from Simon since founding Depop a few years back. “What to do next?” He pondered, before landing on an app that continues his love of community building and bringing people together "around discovering what’s new and unique”. He added, “the next 20 years is going to be a very particular moment for the world; it’s going to be more sustainable, more healthy and therefore more local.”

Delli brings all of these elements together by highlighting quality and health through better and more conscious food choices. In other words, the team wanted to "recreate the experience of virtual food market in your pocket,” said Simon. It does it with a slick and clever design that’s inspired by drop culture, pop culture, Katz’s Delicatessen in New York, iconic designers Enzo Mari and Bruno Munari, plus community driven photography. “One of the key aspects we wanted to portray about our community is the raw photography. In this case, we’re talking about food products done at home, the rawness or the crudeness of the food, and the process of making these products at home,” added Simon. “I think they matched perfectly.” Kenjiro closed with a final note, showing Obama dropping a mic. “Thank you!”
